Suitcase closet

Sorry all! The last couple days the phone and internet were not working properly which made it pretty much impossible to post some cool news. But all seems to be fixed... yay! I'm back! :-)

Last year at the Elle Inside Design event in Amsterdam Dutch designer Lotty Lindeman surprised with her sneak preview of her 'Tassenkast'. During Design Miami next month, Lotty's latest handmade limited edition collection of suitcases will be internationally launched exclusively by Priveekollektie.

Interiors nowadays are presented like stills, but in fact there is a lot of mobility of objects, moving around by human needs. Tassenkast blends traveling storage with furniture. A collection of suitcases get a status as a cupboard in the interior.

*Heart* travelling

Every now and then you come across some amazing hotels, that it seems that just visiting the hotel would already be worth the trip. Here some great spots to consider whenever you need to book a hotel.

* China - Commune by the Great Wall is a private collection of forty-two stunning contemporary architecture villas designed by twelve Asian architects, and hailed by Business Week as a “New Architectural Wonder of China”.

* Norway - At the farmstead of Burtigard a quite out-of-the-ordinary landscape hotel Juvet has been established. The landscape hotel with ten detached hotel 'rooms' have been sited separately, all with their own unique and beautiful view.

* Japan - A small but beautiful small three-story Japanese-style inn called the Fujiya Ginzan, designed by architect Kengo Kuma.

* Ireland - Grand Designs Magazine has listed the Glencomeragh Hermitages in its Top 10 eclectic spaces in the world for a grand getaway. A perfect treat for those in need of a little reflection and contemplation.

* USA - Located in Washington’s Methow Valley, the Rolling huts are the perfect accommodation. Designed as a modern alternative to camping, the six huts are grouped as a herd, each with views of the mountains.

Polaroid week

As you may know I am totally crazy about Polaroid photography, and this week is my 'lucky week' as it's 'Roid Week over at Flickr. More than 1,500 Flickrians have uploaded their favorite Polaroid pictures. Enjoy & spread the Polaroid love.

Dutch stamps

Today my long awaited set of awesome stamps arrived, created by Dutch designer
Christian Borstlap. Christian recently designed these deliciously simple animated illustrations for the Dutch children’s charity, Kinderpostzegels. Paul Postma brought Christian’s colorful illustrations to life; check out the simple but cute animation, packed with clever little ideas.

Clara Francis

These gorgeous glass bead necklaces are made by London-based jeweller, Clara Francis. I love the look; precious, elegant and somewhat nostalgic. Clara's designs make me think of the iron-on beads, bringing back all kinds of creative and fun memories.
