Still in LLOVE
The LLOVE Hotel is an amazing one month exhibition consisting of guest rooms created by Dutch and Japanese designers, such as Joep van Lieshout, Pieke Bergmans and Richard Hutten. Not only is the hotel an exhibition you can visit, but you can actually book an overnight stay.
The LLOVE concept for this this unique temporary hotel was created by Suzanne Oxenaar, Artistic Director of the Dutch LLoyd Hotel in Amsterdam.
d'Espresso
New coffee bar the d’Espresso Cafe in New York based it’s design on the interior of a library. Never a dull moment in this library; to make sure heads would turn, the interior was spun around, shifting each part 90 degrees. The floor was shifted to the rear wall, the library stacks were shifed to the floor, ceiling and outer walls, and the library ceiling became the back of the bar. Great place to enjoy coffee over a good book.
The twist of the interior design by Nema Workshop reminds me a lot of the Viktor & Rolf store in Milan, which unfortunately had to close it’s doors in 2008. In the Viktor & Rolf, by Dutch interior architect and art historian Siebe Tettero, literally everything was turned upside down. The rug was on the ceiling and the chandeliers were on the floor. Even the names of the designers were upside down on the shop window. Those were the days...
More i29
Earlier this year I shared one of the many magnificient projects done by Dutch Interior Design firm i29. And today, I came across another i29 interior gem (via Irene). The colors, graphic lines, the contrast of materials make this apartment look spacious, organized and welcoming... All that, and more, on just 45 m2.
i29
Dutch Interior Design firm i29 designed the new interior of this splendid 1930s Amsterdam family apartment. The interior is completely unrecognizable from its original state, once cramped full of long corridors, doorways and small rooms. The new interior turned the house into one big open, spacious interior with the central feature being a striking white kitchen cabinet made from laser-cut MDF.
Pin it forward
On Lori's blog I read about the Pin it Forward project - a project with more than 300 blogs participating. The site, and the Pin it Forward entries specifically, are pretty much visual heaven on earth for design and interior lovers like myself. Seeing all those beautiful images of even more beautiful homes and design items, feels like being in the candy shop. Great space for some serious inspiration!

Simply loving this witty concept; Front covered the walls of the Tensta Konsthall with plastic and silk flowers to create a three dimensional wallpaper.
Studio Aandacht
This striking house, located on the IJburg district in Amsterdam, has been for sale for a couple of months now, so it was about time to share this here on Orange Pop Design. The stunning home with it's fresh interior, filled with many designs from (mainly) young Dutch designers, belongs to the Dutch couple Ben Lambers (art director) and Tatjana Quax (photo stylist), who work together under the name of Studio Aandacht.
Studio Aandacht has worked on a number of impressive projects, including numerous productions for Elle Decoration, Dutch department store Hema and Dutch children's brand Tumble 'n Dry and many more.
Truck
Truck, a magnificent Japanese store, has a collection of some of the most breathtaking pieces of furniture. From what I understand from the site, each piece is custom-made and unique. Ah, the greed…!
Sandra Juto
I’ve been a huge fan of Swedish Sandra Juto for a couple years now, and every time I read her blog I find myself feeling inspired. I simply enjoy reading it so much; I love her enthusiasm, dedication, work and sense of style. It seems that whatever she does simply turns into magic; whether it be her photography and approach to everyday things on her blog, or the things she creates like the plaids (which has been on my wish list forever!), wrist worms, neck worms, illustrations or softies (shop here). It’s all good. And I mean really good!

What a great, comfortable and welcoming home this is, so light and balanced! Although it is already close to perfection, it would be heaven on earth if I could replace the couch with a (contemporary or old Chesterfield) leather sofa, throw in some Arne Jacobsen and Jielde lamps and put in a white modern kitchen or a retro (wooden) one.
